چکیده

Objective: This study was conducted to compare the efficacy of Propofol with Ketamine versus Fentanyl for procedural sedation patients undergoing ERCP evaluate consumption, recovery score, patient satisfaction and related adverse events. Materials Methods: Sixty aged 18-60 years, ASA Class I II were randomly allocated one two groups; Propofol/Ketamine (Ketofol) group KP (n=30) Propofol/Fentanyl FP (n=30). The level adjusted achieve a Ramsay Sedation Scale (RSS) score 5. Results: total amount consumed significantly higher in (109.883±11.3871 mg) compared (89.867±9.8942 mg). Time reach acceptable slightly longer (Aldrete scores 9.5±0.509, 9.8±0.407 respectively at 30 min). Patient comparable both groups side effects like hypotension, bradycardia, desaturation more significant group. Conclusion: Propofol-Ketamine combination provided quality similar Propofol-Fentanyl better hemodynamic profile fewer effects. Hence can be safely used ERCP.

Comparison between the effects of propofol-ketamine and propofol-fentanyl for sedation in cataract surgery

Background and Aim: Considering the importance of proper sedation in cataract surgery, this study was conducted to make a comparison between the effects of ketamine-propofol combination and fentanyl-propofol combination for sedation in phacoemulsification surgery. Methods: In this clinical trial study, 84 patients who were candidates for phacoemulsification cataract surgery were assigned to two...

Assessment of the effects of ketamine-fentanyl combination versus propofol-remifentanil combination for sedation during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography

BACKGROUND Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) as a diagnostic and treatment procedure is used in most biliary tract and pancreatic. Either sedation or general anesthesia could be considered for this procedure. Combining a sedative with an opioid agent can provide effective moderate sedation. This study compared the impact of ketamine-fentanyl (KF) versus propofol-remifentanil...

Sedative and Analgesic Effects of Propofol-Fentanyl Versus Propofol-Ketamine During Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography: A Double-Blind Randomized Clinical Trial

BACKGROUND Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a painful procedure that requires analgesia and sedation. OBJECTIVES In this study, we compared the analgesic and sedative effects of propofol-ketamine versus propofol-fentanyl in patients undergoing ERCP. METHODS In this clinical trial, 72 patients, aged 30 - 70 years old, who were candidates for ERCP were randomly divided...

A comparison of sedation quality with midazolam-ketamine versus propofol-ketamine during Phacoemulsification surgery

Background: Phacoemulsification surgery is one of the most common surgeries in the world. Various drugs have been used alone or in combination with each other to provide effective and safe sedation in patients, but so far, a drug method agreed upon by anesthesiologists has not been proposed. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the sedative quality of midazolam or propofol with a low do...
